Project Rules
Version 2026-08-08
The friendly summary of how the project works. The Terms of Service are the full version — if the two ever disagree, the Terms win.
- Pick your squares.Choose any available squares on the car's panels.
- An account is required. You buy square positions first and choose colours afterwards, so you need an account to manage your colours and follow your order's painting status.
- Pick an approved colour. 18 colours to choose from; screen colours are approximate and may differ from the real paint.
- Choose within 90 days.If you haven't picked a colour within 90 days, we may leave the square unpainted, paint it a default colour, or release the position to someone else. We'll remind you first. This isn't refundable, so pick your colours.
- Nothing gets shipped. You don't receive a physical item — no parcel, no delivery, no customs, no shipping cost. Your square lives on the car.
- Squares are about 8 × 8 mm of paint. The grid is 1 cm, but the printed border lines take up some of that, so the painted area inside is a little smaller.
- No ownership. You're taking part in a temporary art project — you don't own the car, the artwork, the paint, or any IP. It's not an investment.
- Paint is temporary. It can fade, wash off, lighten, smudge or be removed over time. That's part of the art.
- Placement is approximate. The website preview is illustrative; physical placement may differ slightly on curved panels.
- Keep it appropriate. No offensive, hateful, threatening, discriminatory, sexually explicit, illegal or infringing designs or messages. We moderate and may reject, alter, remove or cover squares that break the rules — squares rejected before painting are refunded.
- It gets filmed. The car, the painting process and the finished artwork are photographed, filmed and published. Your squares and colours may appear publicly. Your name and email never do.
- The leaderboard is opt-in.Your display name only appears publicly if you switch it on — it's off by default, and you can turn it off again any time.
- Painting happens in batches. Squares appear in the digital preview first; physical painting follows, often on camera. No guaranteed painting dates.
- Your account dashboard is informational. Painting status is updated manually, so there can be a delay between physical painting and what your dashboard shows.
- Refund basics. Refunds for moderation rejections before painting, accidental double-sales, or the project ending before your square is painted or represented — see the Refund Policy.
- You must be 18, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
